At the Veterans Day luncheon last week at the Hilton Anatole, Lt. General Lawrence F. Snowden said that we customarily count the cost of war in terms of money and lost lives. But he spoke of another loss. He told of a 20-year-old soldier, killed by a sniper’s bullet in WWII, who held enormous leadership potential in American society, lost forever.
